Live Butterfly Observatory Tent

Meet the winners of the Butterfly Miss Pageant and enjoy the release of live butterflies into the Observatory Tent.  The tent will be located at the Logan County Fairgrounds at Airport Industrial Road and State Highway 22 (2.5 miles East of the Paris city square & courthouse.)   The Observatory will be open to the public all day from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday & Saturday, June 21 & 22, 2013.  There will be a limited number of butterflies in the observation tent on Friday, June 21.  The formal release of butterflies into the observatory will be on Saturday, June 22 at @ 9:00am, by the winners of the Butterfly Miss Pageant.  All the butterflies will be set free from the tent at @ 5:00pm on Saturday June 22 after the festival concludes. Several species,  all resident to the state and U.S.D.A approved for release.  will be in the Observatory including, monarchs, swallowtails & painted ladies.  It is our desire to continue to help increase the numbers of our butterflies in the valley below Mt. Magazine by releasing resident species downtown from our Live Butterfly Observatory Tent each year.


There will be a limited number of butterflies released into the tent for observation on Friday, June 21.

The 2013  Formal release of butterflies INTO the Observatory Tent by the winners of the Butterfly Miss Pageant will be at 9:00a.m. Saturday, June, 22nd.

2013 "Butterflies are Free" release FROM the Observatory Tent will be at @ 5:00pm Saturday June 22nd after the festival concludes.
