Benefield Hike: Butterflies and wildflowers thriving in both sunny and shady habitats may be encountered on the Benefield trail system, such as shade-loving satyrs. These trails offer some of the most fantastic views in the park. Meet a park interpreter at the Benefield Picnic Area for this 1 1/2 mile hike. (90 minutes) |

Bug Bonanza in the Pavilion: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Featuring live insects, spiders, scorpions Make and take crafts: Rubber stamp bugs and handprint butterflies. |
Will Apple’s Road Discover the park at your own pace on this special 1/4 mile spur trail. Pollinators in their natural habitat, nectar and host plants are the focus of 12 stations, or "stops". Each station is numbered, and corresponds to interpretation in a special brochure, which will be available during the festival from the Mt. Magazine Action Group volunteer table. The trail begins at the Will Apple’s trailhead near the visitor center and ends in the visitor center parking lot close to the trailhead. Please stay on the trail for your own safety and to decrease impact. Depending on your pace and wildlife activity, allow at least one hour to complete this trail. |
